Specialist School Status
In July 2009 the school achieved Specialist School Status in physical and sensory need.
The school runs a number of events during the year for pupils, families and friends, including a disco and Summer Fun Day. We hold an annual Christmas event for our past pupils.
St Giles has a number of well-established links with Primary and Secondary schools in Croydon. Pupils from the school take part in events and activities specially planned to promote inclusion and raise self-esteem for all pupils involved.
The school is involved in a number of charity events over the course of the year. We raise money for several charities through non-uniform days and special events, and collect items and gifts for chosen charities at Harvest and Christmas time.
St Giles is one of six special schools in the London Borough of Croydon. The special schools have good links and relationships.
We have a group of volunteers supporting pupils who need additional help with reading, and also have volunteers working alongside pupils and staff in the classroom.
St Giles belongs to Kenley Extended Services Partnership (KESP), a group of 10 local schools.
